EYAL LOVETT Trio

Inspired by the legacy of Bill Evans legendary trios, Eyal Lovett Trio gives equal importance to each of the group members. The band is constantly looking for the moment’s sound, continuously creating and interacting with each other. However, it does not do so on expanse of groove and clarity. The band explores a wide range of styles – from the classical jazz repertoire, through Israeli folk music, to North African dances, and plays them all in a unique recognizable contemporary sound.

Israeli born pianist-composer Eyal Lovett creates a wide range of music. Although classically trained, he is deeply immersed in the jazz tradition, as well as in the diverse music located in Israel and the Middle East.

Eyal is a former student of renowned teachers such as Sarah Tal, Rachel Feinstein (classical music), Amit Golan, Ofer Ganor, Omri Mor, Yuval Cohen and Alon Yavnai (jazz). Eyal is an award winning alumni of the first class of the prestigious joint program for exceptional jazz students of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, and The Israeli Conservatory. He later continued his education in New York, at the New School, where he was fortunate enough to study with musicians such as Sam Yahel, George Cables, Hal Galper, Ari Hoening, Jane Ira Bloom and many more. Eyal has toured with his trio in Denmark and Berlin, playing in different venues, including the renowned Aarhaus International Jazz Festival. Eyal had played and shared the bandstand with musicians such as Peter Bernstein, Michal Cohen, Noam David, Yuval Cohen, Anat Cohen, Kenneth Dahl Knudsen, Noam Israeli, Maxence Sibille, Jess Koren, Ramiro olaciregui, Malte Schiller, Ilia Skibinsky, Thomas Oakman ,Dvora Davis, Gabi Gelman, Daniel Dor, Jeremy Breuere, Jess Koren, Udi Kazimirski and many others. He currently lives in Berlin and is working on his first album, due to be released in 2013.
