Jonas Bibi Hammond & Nasser Kilada

Afro-Nubian/ Egyptian folk beats and melodies, using loops and beats from Nubian/Egyptian and African Percussion, funk and dance beats, Electro elements as a foundation for Organic musicianship.

Nasser Kilada and Jonas Bibi Hammond met in the mid 90´s in Berlin, back then Nasser, a prolific, Charismatic entertainer on the Berlin scene, had started off a band playing Arabian pop music in the metropol Berlin, and Jonas was the producer, bassplayer, on the road with Ali Hassan Kuban internationally.

Nasser invited Jonas to join his band as a bass player for a short period, and a friendship developed, after almost 15 years, they reconnected and decided to start a studio project experimenting with Afro-Nubian/ Egyptian folk beats and melodies, using loops and beats from Nubian/Egyptian and African Percussion, funk and dance beats, Electro elements as a foundation for Organic musicianship.

This is a premier showcase of the project and they both decided to have it at the WERKSTATT DER KULTUREN, where both Jonas and Nasser have developed a few of their individual projects, like Nasser’s – RANIN, PHARAOH FUNK, and Jonas’s PAN AFRICAN GROOVE COLLECTIVE, 1884 PAN AFRICAN BIG BAND. The showcase will be present a few suprise top musicians from the Berlin music scene. This music is for dancing - organic meets nubian space funk - bring your dancing shoes!
