Short Biography


Jean-Paul Bourelly is a Haitian and American guitarist and producer who works across a variety of musical genres and scenes, e.g. Jazz, Free Funk, Avantgarde, Rock and Global Music. He has played internationally with his projects 3kings and Gypsys, as well as with Miles Davis and Cassandra Wilson. Bourelly has been based in Berlin for many years and from 1999 - 2002 he developed and ran the project 'Backroom' at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW). In 2004, he was responsible for organizing the concert series 'Congo Square' as part of the HKW's 'Black Alantic' program.
