Alain Missala & Band

Jazz & Funk meets Pentatonic

Jazz, Funk, Brazilian and diverse African pentatonic elements merge into a new sound. Wherever Alain Missala performs, the crowd is carried away by this musical variety. An infectious combination of handmade music with hot horn sections, afro-polyrhythms as well as authentic Jazz notes, create a melody explosion - sometimes up-tempo and dynamic, sometimes slow and emotional. The singer’s unique voice and the band’s tight interaction leave an extraordinary impression on the audience.

Alain Missala is a multi-instrumentalist. In 2011 he founded the artist and comedy duo 'Foulaa System' with a friend, going back to their African roots while mixing pentatonic elements with European pop music - it was the beginning of Afro Pop in Germany.

Currently he is working on the album 'Notes of My Life.' It is a result of both his musical journey and his life experience. His songs are stories of people from all over the world, experiencing similar emotions: love, happiness, hardships and hope.

  • Alain Missala – vocals, guitar
  • Matija Krznaric - guitar
  • Frank Winkelmann - drums
  • Thomas Hoppe - bass
  • Amadeus Chiodi - sax
