Arieb Azhar

Pakistani Sufi Poetry and Music meets Irish-Celtic Music Traditions and Balkan Sound

Arieb Azhar's mesmerizing songs about love, compassion and humanist values hail from the tradition of the Sufi bards of the subcontinent. His music is an eclectic mix of Folk and Contemporary with influences ranging from Indo-Pak to Balkan and Irish-Celtic.

Having lived in Croatia for several years, where he was the frontman for an Irish-Croatian band, called Shamrock Rovers, Arieb also has an extensive repertoire of songs in English, Irish, Croatian and Bosnian.

Arieb has performed in all the major festivals of Pakistan including The Rafi Peer World Performing Arts Festival and Sufi Festival; and Coke Studio season 2 and season 3, Music Mela Conference 2014; and abroad at the Saanj Peace Festival in Amritsar-India, the InMusic Festival in Zagreb-Croatia, Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow-Scotland, Alchemy Festival in London-UK, River to River Festival in New York-USA, Center Stage 2012 tour USA; as well as holding concerts and recitals in England, Italy, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Serbia, Japan, Thailand and Kyrgyzstan.
