A fascinating cinematographic journey into the centuries old history of Georgian arts involving the Greek, Roman and Iranian influences. The film portrays ancient monuments of culture, the glorious past of the country, it's geographical, architectural and literary highlights culminating in the tradition of wine making it's roots as the oldest cradle if wine in the world to its present wine industry.

Giorgi Shengelaia, born 11 May 1937, is a Georgian and Soviet film director. He has directed 14 films since 1961. His 1985 film The Journey of a Young Composer won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 36th Berlin International Film Festival.
