Three Fall & Nour Project

The Alexandria Connection

The trio Three Fall (ACT) has been successfully touring its unique music through the world for several years. That's why we are pleased to have them as our guests at the WERKSTATT DER KULTUREN for the very first time, with an exciting intercultural project.
"It would be difficult for a band to define the original ideals of jazz, its love of freedom and the enjoyment of thrilling rhythms in a more contemporary way," the FAZ said about Three Fall. European dialogue with Arab culture is another contemporary theme which is also imperative.
Egypt has a rich and grand music tradition and music scene. As a result of being invited by the Goethe Institut in Alexandria, the Cologne-Berlin trio Three Fall were able to learn about this tradition in the years 2013, 2014 and 2016, through concerts and workshops in Egypt. A fertile dialogue came into being as part of this cooperation, which eventually led to the collaboration with the Egyptian trio Nour Project.
In 2016, Three Fall composed and developed a programme with these three splendid musicians, and toured throughout Egypt. They quote traditions, yet have the central aim of creating a new, modern and individual world of rhythms and soundscapes, that interweave driving beats, Middle Eastern melodies and well-known Three Fall grooves with each other.
