Mobilizing for Democracy

Feminist paths of resistance

Feminisms connect women and their allies and can be a driving element in the resistance towards nationalism and right-wing populism. The Women’s March in Washington at the start of the year demonstrated this in an impressive manner. What are the prerequisites for such mobilisation and how does it go forward from there?
Also in Germany, where we are having a bumper election year in 2017, we are facing wide-ranging decisions. Right-wing populism continues to strengthen and is causing a gradual erosion of basic values in the “middle” of society. How can a political mobilisation for the open, democratic and thus immigration society be possible?

Carmen Perez, Co-chair of the Women’s March in Washington
Gesine Agena, Member of the Federal Board and women's political spokesperson for Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen
Emilia Roig, Expert for critical racism research and intersectionality
Anne Wizorek, Digital media consultant, writer, speaker, blogger
Host: Barbara Junge, Taz deputy chief editor
